“Good morning Mr. Freeman.”
The first words you hear when finally exiting the tram and arriving at your destination at the Black Mesa facility. The iconic game where you hear this sentence, Half-Life, was selected as one of the best shooters of all time, but you’re probably here to know more about VALVe currently, so instead of that, I’m going to inform you of four VALVe games, and THEN I will actually talk about the stuff VALVe is currently up to.

Letter from the Editor
This edition of The Pipe Magazine we look at Valve, a software, gaming, and accessory company. Valve is known for their great games, that have a multitude of difficulty settings. The company has received praise, through awards, for their games, too.
I also like Valve’s software named Steam - a platform you can have on your computer to play a whole range of games from other developers, too, not just Valve. We get to play games from many developers, not just one company. I also like that Valve’s game are not as expensive as major developers, but are still exciting and fun to play. Steam is also known for having fabulous sales that might empty out your wallet, that’s how great their sales are!
I was not able to get an interview form Gabe Newell, the CEO of Valve, after I tried a multitude of times. It would have been interesting to talk to him, and I would have asked, “Why or how did you develop Steam?”, “Was it a challenge?” and, “Are there any bugs or problems currently with Steam that you would like to fix?”
I would love to work at Valve some day. I would be the person that comes up with ideas, or an artist, or animator. I haven’t decided yet, and I haven’t seen the ‘idea’ job yet on their “Opportunities” page. I would like to work with other developers and help with new games that might be coming out.
In this edition, you can read about Valve, it’s history, and Gabe Newell, the CEO of Valve. It will interest possibly any gamer, or someone who want to know more about Valve, and maybe even someone that is considering working at Valve Headquarters in the United States.
